THE SEEDS OF VIOLENCE: Folks Out There Have a "Distaste of Western Civilization and Cultural Values"

[this is good]
"Refusal to open one's mind to allow rational considerations into our thinking and our actions, is surely sinful at best, and dangerous at worst. For it prevents our God from using us as instruments in His correction of the wrongs of others."

Remarkable observations Yahya. You have implied that rationalism and objectivism comprises the stairway to heaven as it enables us to consider the significance of our human identity as opposed to national or self-serving one.

Good one Yahya.
I really can't take credit for the observation. As I am not as well versed in the Noble Quran as I wish I were, I am always hesitant to quote any verses, afraid as I am that I may have it out of context. But this is discussed by many Islamic scholars. It is better to read the complete paper by Dr. Ibrahim B Syed Ph.D. He is one such scholar who discusses this Islamic perspective in a paper entitled "The Pleasures of Learning" (his citation form the Noble Quran):

(Quran, 39:9)

And the Qur'an exhorts the Muslims to do scientific research:.

"And whoso bringeth the truth and believeth therein such are the dutiful."

(Quran, 39:33)

Every Muslim man's and every Muslim woman's prayer should be:

"My Lord! Enrich me with knowledge.."

(Quran, 20:114)

The pursuit of knowledge and the use of reason, based on sense observation is made obligatory on every Muslim, man and woman.

You lift out the essence of the post, better than I had done. Thanks again for your most valued comments, Ed.
