LOL

Are you trying to use my own blog entry against me...?

Anyways, I've always said. To each his own.

Plus here are more opinions on the matter...most of them, unfortunately, were written by me...

Different and diverse

As usual in this issue, it's still divided on both sides. I can even put you in touch with the Amnesty International (Malaysia) Executive Director who speaks rather strongly for this issue.
My dear man, your knowledge about the Bible is very thin. It just about matches your knowledge about some other Holy texts. You typically choose to see only your opinion reflected there. There are many many places the Bible speaks about homosexuality. Most of the relevant verses contain EMPHATIC warnings and repeated over and over, that it is THE LORD THAT SPEAKS. Serious scholars and translaters will attest to the fact that when this appears in the manuscripts, it is considered very significant. I would like to know who taught you anything about the Bible. You seem to be listening to the wrong people on this issue. But, to each his own. Your readers seem to have a similar outlook to you. They obviously come back to help them ease their conscience. You are in a powerful position, your keyboard can be a weapon in God's defense or a tool to your own destruction. Use it cautiously. If you search my del.icio.us, you will find some authoritative sites to see the Quranic texts relating to this issue. I just feel it is strange for me to quite the Quran to someone preparing for the Holy month, where I am not doing that. Salaam brother. I hope I have helped a bit.
I'm willing to read other sides to any tale, brother. This one's no different. Question though. Just how do I get to your del.icio.us site?
Plus, I quote the Quran a lot, even before the nearing of the holy month. And in each quote when mentioning the story of Lot through translation, Lot speaks ill of those who prefer men to women. To state preference, as I have mentioned before, would be to say that they have a choice.

I don't see homosexuality as a choice, but as a natural occurrence.

That's where we have separate opinions. And I guess that's where we can both honestly say we're not going to change either of our mindsets on this one. Call me ignorant or unintelligent if you will, but I stand firm on my stance for this one.

Allah forgive me for caring if I'm wrong.

=)

Perhaps you would agree with this then? The Catholic view incorporates this argument best:

On Chastity and homosexuality
From Catechism of the Catholic Church

[In summary, homosexuality is simply another trial which God by His Grace and Wisdom, gives to us. By overcoming this trial, through purification and imitation,
and by the sacraments,
the individual can approach perfection]

2357 Homosexuality refers to
relations
between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant
sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great
variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its
psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on
Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave
depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual
acts are intrinsically disordered.
They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the
gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual
complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who
have
deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination,
which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial.
They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every
sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These
persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they
are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the
difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to
chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom,
at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and
sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely
approach Christian perfection.
One person is given the trial of lust, and another may be given fornication, or another is given gambling. Simply because these trials and tests exist, doesn't mean we should celebrate their occurance in nature by calling them acceptable, does it? The Bible is clear on these issues. No amount of twisting the scripture will change God's law (Mathew 5:17-20)
